The ASCVD Risk Calculator is a digital tool developed by the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the American Heart Association (AHA) Task Force to estimate the 10-year and lifetime risks of patients experiencing their first ASCVD event.
The Risk Calculator uses multivariate risk equations with required patient information to calculate the likelihood (e.g., 7.5%) of a patient experiencing an ASCVD event within specified time periods (10-year & lifetime).
An image of the Risk Calculator interface is shown on the right. It is based on gender, age, race, total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, systolic blood pressure, use of hypertension lowering medication, diabetes status, and smoking status.
