It’s nice to see you again! Well, today is the final time we have to discuss heart disease together. I believe the last time you were here we talked about the most important risk factors for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease: high blood pressure and high cholesterol and when pharmacotherapy should be used to treat these risk factors.

 

Today, you’ll be learning about another coronary problem that is more common in women than in men. It’s called microvascular disease or MVD. MVD is one of the primary reasons why women experience heart disease symptoms differently than men do.
