Let’s take a minute to review what you’ve learned today.
From studying Mrs. Jensen’s case, you’ve learned the importance of changing a patient’s treatment plan based upon their current medical condition (e.g., changing blood pressure & statin medications). Furthermore, you’ve learned the importance of understanding the pharmacological effects (and side effects) of medications before prescribing a specific drug and dosage.
You’ve also learned about cardio microvascular disease (MVD) and its prevalence among women suffering from heart problems. And most importantly, you’ve learned that many of the traditional cardiovascular tests, commonly effective in the male population, are not adequate in diagnosing MVD in women.
